"Farewell Tribute to Her Excellency Ambassador Nyhamar: A Remarkable Legacy of Collaboration and Dedication"
I extend my deepest gratitude to Her Excellency, Ambassador Nyhamar, for her invaluable collaboration with the Norway-Japan Society.
Ambassador Nyhamar has served as the Norwegian Ambassador in Japan since August 2019, and throughout her tenure, she has demonstrated unwavering dedication to various causes, including peace, with a special focus on Ukraine, democracy, freedom, gender equality, renewable energy, climate change issues, the promotion of bilateral trade, multilateralism, and more.
Her Excellency actively participated in and supported the activities of the NJS. Shortly after I assumed the role of President, she joined us in engaging in beach cleaning at Enoshima, demonstrating a proactive spirit of volunteerism.
During last year's general assembly, she delivered a lecture on Norway's comprehensive foreign policy, leaving a profound impression with her resolute and unwavering diplomatic approach. Additionally, she actively delivered speeches at various events, including at Kyoritsu Women's University where Director Tatematsu is a professor, enlightening us on Norway's advanced progress in the realm of gender equality. Furthermore, as an ambassador, she not only generously provided the NJS with the free use of the Aurora Hall but also offered valuable advice on various activities.
I sincerely express my gratitude to Her Excellency for her remarkable contributions, and I trust that she will treasure the memories of her time in Japan while steadfastly supporting both Japan and our Norway-Japan Society.
