New Events:Kirin Beer Yokohama Brewery Tour & Social Gathering at Kirin Yokohama Beer Hall
イベントの背景
日本ではじめて産業として継続的にビールを製造した「日本ビール産業の祖」、ノルウェー出身のウイリアム・コープランド（William Copeland 1834-1902）が1870年に横浜・ 山手に建てたビール醸造所「スプリングバレー・ブルワリー」、その流れを汲むキリンビール横浜工場を見学するイベントです。
キリンビールは、コープランド氏の命日である2月11日に、毎年、コープランド氏が眠る横浜山手の外国人墓地にて「墓前祭」を開催、昨年よりNJSとしても参加させて頂いているご縁で、今年操業100年を迎えた横浜工場の藤原工場長のご厚意で9月12日（土）の見学会を手配させて頂きました。
＜工場見学ツアーについて＞
工場見学ツアーでは、ビールの素材に実際に触れたり、一番搾り麦汁と二番搾り麦汁を飲み比べるなど、「一番搾り」ならではのこだわりの製法やおいしさの秘密を体感できます。
2026年4月に新設した歴史コーナーでは、キリンビールの歩みや横浜工場の歴史についても知ることができます。
ツアーでは、英語翻訳のご用意はございます。ご自身のスマホでQRを読み込んでいただくと翻訳画面になりますので、それを見ながらツアーをまわる感じになります。
当日受付で仰っていただければご用意しますので、スタッフにお声がけ下さい。
今年４月に新設した歴史コーナーは「見どころ」のひとつです！
Event Overview
This event features a tour of the Kirin Brewery Yokohama Plant, which traces its lineage back to the "Spring Valley Brewery"—established in 1870 in the Yamate district of Yokohama by William Copeland (1834–1902), a Norwegian pioneer known as the "father of Japan's beer industry" for being the first to produce beer continuously as a commercial enterprise in the country.
Kirin Brewery holds an annual memorial service on February 11—the anniversary of Copeland’s passing—at the Yokohama Foreign General Cemetery in Yamate, where he is laid to rest. NJS has participated in this service since last year, and thanks to the kindness of Plant Manager Mr. Fujiwara of the Yokohama Plant—which is celebrating its 100th anniversary of operations this year—we have arranged this tour on Saturday, September 12.
＜About the Brewery Tour＞
During the brewery tour, visitors can experience what makes Kirin Ichiban special by touching the actual ingredients used to make beer and comparing the taste of the first-press wort with the second-press wort. Through these activities, guests can learn about Kirin Ichiban’s distinctive brewing process and discover the secrets behind its flavor.
At the new history section, which opened in April 2026, visitors can also learn about the history of Kirin Brewery and the development of the Yokohama Brewery.
English translation is available during the tour. By scanning a QR code with your smartphone, you can access an English translation screen and follow along while taking part in the tour.
Please ask a member of staff at reception on the day, and they will provide the necessary information.
The history section, newly opened in April this year, is one of the highlights of the tour!

Following the tour, a "Beer Enjoyment Gathering" (social event; optional) will be held at the restaurant “Kirin Yokohama Beer Hall” located on the factory premises.
